Farmers Market Salesperson

The Upper Crust Baking Co. is one of Northern California’s premier artisanal bakeries, as well as one of its oldest. We have been family-owned and -operated for 30 years. Our products are sold uniquely at farmers markets throughout Northern California. Please see our website at

We are currently looking for part-time and full-time sales people to represent our products at the various farmers markets in Northern California we serve.

The job entails:

-- Packing bread products
-- Lifting and loading trays of bread and equipment onto and off of vans
-- Driving delivery vans
-- Setting up and breaking down farmers market stall
-- Standing for 4 to 5 hours
-- Learning about and actively selling our products
-- Being an active, engaged salesperson

Currently, we are looking for people who are available for various mid-week and weekend shifts. 
Shifts are available most days of the week.

Baker / Mixer / Former

The Upper Crust Baking Co. is one of Northern California's premier artisanal bakeries, as well as one of its oldest. We feature high quality, handcrafted artisan breads, and some sweet things, made with all natural, locally sourced ingredients. We have been family-owned and -operated for more than 30 years, have stands at more than 40 farmers markets throughout Northern California, and have recently opened a retail bakery/boutique in Davis. We are looking for a highly dependable person who loves to prepare and bake artisan pastries and bread, and has the flexibility and willingness to do related tasks as required. Applicants should have at least 1 to 2 years previous culinary and/or commercial baking experience. This is a 1/2 to 3/4 time position.

Job description

The baker is responsible for the end-to-end production of all baked goods. This includes closely following recipe formulas; scaling ingredients; mixing dough; cutting and forming loaves; proofing; and baking. In addition, the baker is responsible for daily clean-up often will be required to slice and package our baked goods. In addition, because we are a small family-owned business, there may be other tasks like customer service, packaging, etc. Ability to multi-task is important. 

Dependability and availability are an absolute must. Shifts for this position generally start in the morning at 6:30am on weekdays and weekends. We are currently looking to cover 3 to 4 shifts per week. 

The baker will be required to operate all bakery machinery including ovens, mixers, dough dividers, proofers, slicers. This is a role that requires working on your feet all day and the ability to regularly lift 50 pounds. 

Required Skills / Experience

- You must be 18 years of age or older and have the right to work in the USA;
- Dependability is an absolute must; 
- Availability to work mornings and weekends;
- One to two years culinary or bakery experience, or other relevant experience.
