Peasant Bread is a four-pound bread wheel that pulls apart into 36 individual dinner rolls. It makes a beautiful dinner table centerpiece, and provides ample bread for a large dinner party. We make peasant breads using a variety of formulas - including Multigrain Whole Wheat, French (with or without sesame seeds), Salted Rosemary, Birdseed, and Challah. these dry, crispy cookies are perfect for dipping into your coffee, tea, or dessert wine. And they stay fresh for a really long time, especially if you keep them in the re-sealable zip-lock baggies that we package them in.
This is not "New York-Style" cheesecake. It is New York Cheesecake. It has a linzer torte (sugar cookie) crust – not graham cracker like you find on the west coast – and each standard cheesecake has a full pound of Philadelphia cream cheese in it. It's dense, creamy, and not too sweet. For extra decadence, choose to have one topped with a generous layer of chocolate ganache.
We use a traditional French recipe for our Apple Tarts and Tartlettes. Starting with a sugar-cookie crust that is not too sweet, we layer fresh granny smith apples cut into thick wedges, and add a sprinkle of sugar on top.
The result is a delicious, and not-too-filling dessert or snack that is actually nutritious—and it makes a beautiful centerpiece for your table.
